NISM or National Institute of securities Market , Conducts an Examination in the name of Mutual Fund Distribution Certification Series V A. The Exam being conducted at various centres through out the country to enable Independent Financial Advisors and Corporate Advisors to get the eligibility for selling mutual Funds to indisvidual Investors.

The Idea behind this is to verify and test the qualification and credibility of an Advisor who would be responsible for advising someone regarding his/her hard earned Money. AMFI in addition to SEBI Guidelines Mandated to get this certifcation before advising someone to invest in mutual Fund schemes.

This Exam is conducted in different slots of Two hours each in which a candidate is required to answer 100 odd questions. The passing marks turns to be 50% only. The good thing is that, there is no negative marking so, Each and every question can be attempted.

Questions in this being set comprising a blended mixture of calculation and theoritical. To some extent, You could get some general question which increase the chances of getting more than passing marks. If someone is not good in calculations, it doesnot mean he could not get passing marks as there are other categories of questions asking true and false as well as questions of general behaviour related to Investor benefit and basic understanding. But it doesnot mean that we should neglect the calculative part to understand as these are of great use while practice in field.

The calculative part tells us about Risk and return as well as Fundamental analysis before choosing best scheme. The overall idea is to advice the investor suitable scheme in line with his risk category and desired goal. Every advisor must attend this examination by keeping in their mind that after this exam, he would be responsible for someone,s Profit or Loss.
