Bihar Land Survey 2024 || Special Survey commenced

 In Bihar state, Special Land Survey has begun and will be completed within a year probably in 2025 as per guidelines by the state Government. This Survey is proposed to correct the mistakes of Revisional survey done during 70's .

First Survey in India was done during British rule in 1890 era in the name of cadestral Survey after which Revisional survey oraganised to make some correction in favor of land owners during 1972 era. The Recent survey in 2024 is carried to identify the real alive owner of land and the responsible tax payer on that land. Governement is also interested to identify its own land and to take control on those lands which were being captured by locals or land mafia's.

This survey will sort out many disputes among the land owners who either purchased or being inherited the property long year back. In most of the cases , the people are just using their land and not paying any taxes or lagaan to the government which is again a big loss to the states in revenue generation.

Every panchayat or block has been appointed with some Amins, Kanungo and Suvey officers to get the things done on time in effective manner. Its the responsibility of land owner to apply for the survey to get their khatiyan prepared on their own names otherwise old khatiyan would continue. This is the last survey after which no one can get the khatiyan to be changed.

For applying, two forms are given  FORM 2  & FORM 3(1).  First form includes the land details including khata,khesra,boundaries and all whereas, second form depicts the vanshavali tree from which the applicant got the property. These forms are self signed and no authority attestation required neither in vanshavali.

After getting the forms ready along with supporting property documents such as, Registry Kewala, Khatiyan, tax receipts, court orders etc. one need to upload on government portal or tobe submitted offline in block nearby and must collect the receving. After getting all the forms of area in provided timeline, the survey team will physically visit the plots for verification in which the applicant or its representative must be present.

After successful verification, khatiyan to be issued in his name. The same can be challenged after issuing draft khatiyan for correction if any. If no challenge is there then that draft would be published as final and can be claimed in civil court only.
